philips hue bridge update

The Philips Hue Bridge Pro just got its first major software update since launch, and it’s a doozy. Version 2071112000 dropped in October 2025, bringing a slew of features that fundamentally reshape what this little hub can do. If you enabled automatic updates, it’s already sitting on your device.

The hardware specs alone are wild. This thing packs five times the processor power of older models and fifteen times more memory. It handles up to 150 lights and 50 accessories—tripling what came before. The new Hue Chip Pro inside makes all this possible, while storing over 500 custom lighting scenes. That’s a lot of moods.

Five times the processing power, fifteen times the memory, and capacity for 150 lights—this hub doesn’t mess around.

But the real story here is AI. The Bridge Pro now features a generative assistant that suggests and creates lighting scenes based on your mood or whatever occasion you throw at it. AI-driven automation routines are coming soon too, which should mean effortless scheduling without you lifting a finger.

Then there’s the Hue Motion Aware feature, turning regular Hue lights into motion sensors. No additional hardware required.

The Hue Sync PC app got smarter, using AI to match your lighting dynamically to whatever’s happening on screen—gaming, movies, work, you name it. It adapts.

Meanwhile, the app’s room view will soon display switches, sensors, cameras, and MotionAware zones, giving you actual visibility into your entire setup instead of just bulbs and scenes. The older Hue Bridge received version 1973146020 to support the same upcoming app feature enhancement.

Sonos Voice Control integration means lighting now syncs with voice and music commands instantly. Processing stays local on Sonos speakers for privacy, which is nice. No cloud delays, no data leaks.

On top of that, Philips launched the Hue Essential line for people who don’t want to drop serious cash. These entry-level bulbs and strips run the same software as the flagship products, just with simplified performance. They work via Bluetooth or access full features when paired with a Bridge or Bridge Pro. The Essential range includes A19 and BR30 bulbs, GU10 spotlights, and versatile strip lights for different setups.

Oh, and by year’s end, you’ll apparently be able to combine multiple older Hue Bridges into a single Bridge Pro. New OmniGlow strip lights with CSP technology eliminate spotty illumination too.

Everything’s getting smoother, smarter, and more connected—at least on paper.
